For Vendors

Existing vendor? Use your access code

If you've sent us shipments before, you can skip retyping the same details every time. Modal sets up an access code per vendor, and the code unlocks a list of templates based on your past orders — pickup addresses, regular delivery destinations, common contacts, default service type.

What an access code looks like

Access codes look like PHSE-K7XP94RQ — a short prefix that identifies your company, followed by a dash and 8 random characters. Examples (made-up):

  • TM-K7XP94RQ — time:matters
  • PHSE-9RVMTKS3 — PHSE
  • USPW-J8YN3F4D — US Pharma Wholesale

The prefix is just a label so you know the code is yours. The 8 random characters are what protects your account.

Older 6-digit PINs still work until they're rotated. If Modal sent you a 6-digit number before mid-2026, that's still valid — but expect to receive a new access code in the new format the next time you ask Modal to rotate.

What you get after entering it

After entering your code on /request:

  1. A dropdown of past templates, e.g. "JFK pickup → Newark delivery, refrigerated" or "LaGuardia recovery, ambient." Pick one and most fields auto-fill.
  2. You only fill the variable parts — the actual cargo, the date, any special notes.
  3. Submission is otherwise the same as a brand-new request.

How to get a code

Modal sets these up. Reach out to your usual Modal contact — typically Troy or dispatch — and ask for one. They'll generate it and send it to you out-of-band (phone, encrypted message, or in-person — never email).

A single code works for everyone at your company. There's no per-user code; you can share it within your team.

Using your code

  1. Go to /request.
  2. Click Existing vendor.
  3. Pick your company from the dropdown.
  4. Enter your access code (case doesn't matter — phse-k7xp94rq works the same as PHSE-K7XP94RQ).
  5. Pick a template (or skip if your shipment doesn't match any past pattern).
  6. Fill in the changing details.
  7. Submit.

What if I lock myself out?

After 5 wrong attempts in 15 minutes, the system locks you out from that IP for 15 minutes. Just wait it out. If you've genuinely forgotten the code, contact Modal — they can generate a new one immediately.

What if I share my code by mistake?

Contact Modal as soon as possible — they'll rotate the code, which immediately invalidates the old one. The new code can be at your fingertips within minutes.

Privacy

The code only unlocks your company's templates — never anyone else's. Even with a valid code, you can only see and submit on behalf of the company you selected from the dropdown. Templates from other vendors stay hidden.

The system stores your code as a one-way scrypt hash, not in plain text. Even Modal's engineers can't read your code from the database — only verify whether a guess matches.

Don't have a code, just want to submit one-off?

Use the New vendor path on /request — no code needed, fill the form from scratch. Works the same; just no auto-fill.
